Did you know Frank Harrison, “The General”, has a big connection to baseball history? His father, Bob Harrison, was a legendary longtime scout for the Seattle Mariners. He helped shape baseball history in the Emerald City when, on his recommendation, the Mariners drafted Ken Griffey Jr. first overall in 1987. One of 27 major league players Bob Harrison signed during his career. In fact, the General’s father is being remembered in an advertising campaign running in February 2018 for General Air Conditioning & Plumbing. The ad campaign coincides with the Winter Olympics because Bob Harrison was working as a welder while Frank was growing up in Long Beach, CA. So along with being a baseball scout, Frank’s dad was a part of the team that created the first Zamboni.
