Available Federal, Local and Utility Energy Efficiency Incentives
Congress retroactively reinstated the 25C tax credits for qualified high efficiency HVAC systems on January 2, 2012 as part of legislation designed to avoid the ‘fiscal cliff’. Accordingly, our customers in and around the entire Coachella Valley may be able to claim up to $500 in federal tax credits for qualified new heating and/or cooling systems on upcoming purchases thru the end of this year and possibly on systems bought and installed last year.

Qualify for a $300 Federal Tax Credit:
Split-system central air conditioners with 16 SEER and 13 EER
Packaged central air conditioners with 14 SEER and 13 EER
Split-system electric heat pumps with 8.5 HSPF, 12.5 EER, and 15 SEER
Packaged electric heat pumps with 8.0 HSPF, 12.0 EER, and 14 SEER
Biomass-burning stoves used to heat residence or water used in residence and have a minimum 75% thermal efficiency rating.

Qualify for a Federal Tax Credit $150 tax credit:
Natural gas furnaces with 95 AFUE or higher
Propane furnaces with 95 AFUE or higher
Oil furnaces with 95 AFUE or higher
Boilers with 95 AFUE or higher

There is a $500 maximum combined, non-business energy property tax credit per eligible taxpayer (homeowner) for new installations at their primary residence (only) for all tax years after 2005.
