It’s Time to Paint the Town Pink
Ready. Get set. Go! It’s almost time for the 11th annual Paint El Paseo Pink Breast Cancer Walk. It is the signature event for General Air Conditioning & Plumbing as we again take up the fight against breast cancer. The walk is part of our month-long campaign “Cooling for a Cure” which coincides with National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.
This will be the 10th year the General donates a portion of October sales to the Desert Cancer Foundation(DCF). Along the way, the foundation has raised more than $60 million to help those affected by cancer in the Coachella Valley.
The General’s troops will be front and center at the breast cancer walk on Saturday, October 14, 2017. We are so proud to be a part of what is a great community event, and we typically have the largest group of volunteers raising money for the Desert Cancer Foundation. The walk is a really fun event, but don’t take our word for it. Check out this video from last year’s event, and pay attention to the music.
During the event, you are likely to hear that song by a local group, the Bob Harvey Band. The song is titled “I Will Carry You Across”. The band has generously given permission to use their music in conjunction with fundraising for cancer charities. This year there’s a new twist. A group of students from La Quinta High School will perform a choreographed dance routine set to the song, and there’s even a preview on the DCF Facebook page. If you fall in love with the song, like we have, you can download your own personal copy and all you have to do is make a donation to the Desert Cancer Foundation.
So remember, there are two easy ways to raise money for cancer charities during our “Cooling for a Cure” campaign. You can raise money by getting pledges and taking part in the Paint El Paseo Pink Breast Cancer Walk. Or call the General now to schedule an appointment for any HVAC or plumbing service during October, and we’ll donate a portion of our proceeds to the Desert Cancer Foundation.
